Cargo ships transport the majority of the world’s traded goods. Inside the vessel, work is governed by the demands of logistics: machines must function, schedules must be maintained, and cargo must keep moving.

The system is sustained by people whose contributions often remain invisible. Seafarers may work on board continuously for up to ten months at a time. Although the ship is in motion, its internal rhythm remains largely unchanged.
